Industrial Design Engineer

Our exclusive Cardiff based client are looking for an Industrial Design Engineer on a contract basis for 4 months. The role will involve working on a design project at conceptual stage within an R&D department.

The client uses Rhino for Surface and LiDAR modelling and NX/NX Unigraphics CAD/CAM/CAE software packages. The role will include Product Design Concept generation to Final concept creation using Rhino CAD surfacing (see specific requirements), Prototype & production component development, Graphic Design - User Interface, Colour work, Design support work - report writing, process documentation and control

The client is ideally looking for a graduate with some commercial experience within Industrial Design.

Person needs to have:-
* Highly creative individual, Concept generation, model making
* 3D CAD/Rhino/Knowledge of Current Rapid prototyping techniques
* Plastic moulded components, and tooling design
* Metal components, machined, sheet metal/pressings design
* Liaison with moulders and toolmakers
* Design 'problem' solving experience
* Excellent graphic skills, ability to use Photoshop, Illustrator
* Experience/understanding with User Interface Design/Ergonomics
* Experience of Corporate procedures/Corporate Image

Specific Rhino requirements:-
* The Rhino data is required to be taken into IDEAS/NX or other mechanical design engineering package.
* A high degree of surfacing control with the ability to create watertight models with clean data is required.
