Indirect tax Manager (China)

Our client requires an experienced Indirect Tax Manager for an initial 4 month contract based in Central London.

The ideal candidiate will have the following:

Job Responsibilities and Duties

Review of the China VAT and Business Tax forms, rates and rules provided by external tax advisor.

Test tax software and ensure that tax reporting is in line with local regulations.

Advise on best practices related to indirect tax compliance in China.

Perform additional tax research where necessary.

Ensure that the tax research and development process is properly documented and all relevant information is archived.

Provide recommendations on the functionality and coverage of the software.

Work closely with the tax content development team to aid their understanding of requirements

Provide use cases to test the tax content of the final tax compliance software

Education and Work Experience

Bachelors degree in business administration, accounting, finance, taxation or related field or equivalent experience.

Professional tax or accounting qualification.

2-3 years experience of working in indirect taxes in China (VAT and Business Tax) and experience with related compliance processes.

Experience with tax software highly beneficial.

Proven people management and leadership experience.

Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English.

Special skills and knowledge requirements

Ability to explain complex tax issues in an understandable manner to non-tax professionals.

Strong organizational skills and aptitude for detail.

Ability to quickly identify customer needs and provide suitable solutions.

Superior communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.

Ability to work independently.

Intermediate to advance software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Ability to work under pressure and meet rigid deadlines.

Strong management skills.
