Income Recovery Officer

Projektbeschreibung

This role for an Income Recovery Officer has been released on a temporary basis initially for 6 months.

KEY TASKS

* Supervise staff proactively and positively in line with County Council policies, procedures and current legislation and Business Services objectives, including work allocation and review, coaching, support, mentoring and induction of new staff, training and appraisals.
* To support the Senior Income Recovery Officer in achieving team objectives and contributing towards the Business Services business plan.
* To deputise for the Senior Income Recovery Officer and represent the team at internal and external meetings as required.
* To ensure accuracy of documentation for all invoice/credit note requests with proof of debt in accordance with corporate service standards, standing orders and financial regulations and deal with queries on these as they arise.
* To ensure timely and accurate invoicing for all debt due to the County Council including client contributions, rents and leases, damages to street furniture and other sundry income.
* To manage and resolve queries raised in relation to deferred payments, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
* To exercise effective quality control measures and monitoring to ensure personal and team targets are met.
* To report any Adult Protection concerns identified to the appropriate person in accordance with Council policy and procedures.
* To refer cases to the appropriate department or agency to obtain clarification on points of law, or to secure a decision regarding debt recovery or a service user's financial affairs or potential contribution level.
* To manage and resolve queries in relation to deferred payments ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
* To prepare case documentation and issue instructions to Legal Services in the recovery of client debt referred to Legal Services i.e. appropriate enforcement action.
* To deliver and intelligence based approach to managing and minimising aged client debt ensuring the recovery of the debt owed to the Council.

Knowledge
-Able to demonstrate knowledge in the following areas:
-Microsoft Office, In particular Outlook, Excel & Word and their application
-to have used database packages
-Knowledge of legal framework for debt recovery
-Good working knowledge of SAP and/or Controcc and related systems and processes

Experience
-experience of working in a job where accurate figure work is required
-working as part of a team
-Dealing with customers with a variety of abilities
-Effective communication both written and oral
-Working on own initiative and as part of a team.
-Liaising with other professionals/organisations, as appropriate.
-Working knowledge of Data protection
-Supervisory experience
-Using computerised financial systems
