Location: Blackburn easily commutable from Preston, Blackpool, Bolton and with excellent access from Manchester
Rate: £25.00 per hour LTD

OUTSOURCE UK LTD is actively seeking to recruit a Incident and Problem Manager for a contract role on behalf of a client.

THE CLIENT:
A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

THE JOB:
The purpose of the Incident and Problem Manager role will be to provide a service management function that will govern an ITIL based incident & problem management service. To achieve this, the SMI Supplier will monitor service and manage corrective action from managed suppliers where issues are identified.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
The successful Incident and Problem Manager candidate will be responsible for the following:
Owner of the IT problem and incident management policies
Ensuring that Major Incidents are effectively managed to completion
Ensuring that incidents and problems are effectively and efficiently managed between and within supplier teams
Escalation point for incident and problem related issues
Drives clarity on root cause and reduction in repeat incidents through effective problem management
Prime customer of Service desks. Takes supplier assurance rule for Phoenix Service Desk, including regular service reviews and monitoring of their delivery.
Leadership of Service Restoration (Red) teams formed to resolve significant service issues

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
A strong leader who can work in a sometimes stressful operational role where restoration of service is paramount
Excellent track record of being able to identify and resolve issues by applying a structured approach
Very strong communication skills: oral, written, presentation, facilitation
Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically
Technical understanding with ability to translate into business concepts
ITIL life cycle experience (particularly Operations) or equivalent
