IMT Senior Technician (PC Support), Mobile Engineer

Job Purpose: Supports and maintains ICT client equipment and software by remote operation or on-site presence as required, ensuring serviceability and availability within agreed service levels and budgets.

Work Context: Part of a team delivering second-line ICT client support to 8000 users in line with standard SLA. Based at County Hall but may be required to attend any of over 200 other sites in Surrey for which van will be provided. Occasional work outside office hours or outside Surrey may be required.

Moving equipment as required, some lifting and manual handling of moderately heavy items is involved.
Principal Accountabilities: Diagnosing and resolving, or facilitating the resolution of technical problems. Responsible for hardware repairs, arranging warranty work on failed equipment, security of all equipment being worked on or transported, maintaining inventory data and keeping accurate call records. Restoring software image to PCs, making approved changes, installing, removing or re-installing software as required. Must be able to prioritise and complete work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with staff at all levels in the organisation.
Works to procedures on own initiative in a customer-facing role delivering ICT services against an SLA Minimum two years experience in a similar role.
Knowledge and experience of Novell NetWare, PC hardware & peripherals, printers, Windows 2000, WIndows 7, MS Office 2000/3/7, Lotus Notes, remote access solutions Familiar with Mobile computing technologies, broadband, 3G,VPN, Citrix, thin client hardware, Symantec SEP11, Disk Encryption (BeCrypt), Remote Control tools (NetOp), Support Desk Systems (Hornbill Support works)

Driving Licence & willing to travel within Surrey if required (van provided) Has excellent customer service & problem solving skills, keeps records & cares for equipment
