Implementation & Support Specialist (Linux) - Glasgow

I am urgently seeking a Support / Implementation consultant with strong Linux experience for my cutting edge Software as a Service (SaaS) client.

We are looking for a customer implementation and support specialist to help the client manage all aspects of customer implementation and support for their 2 key products / solutions, and for new products as they bring them to market.

This role includes taking responsibility for the fast growing pipeline of newUKandUScustomer implementations and all ongoing support activities, as well as managing the Linux and Oracle operating environments that the company uses.

Whilst the role is 60-80% technical support based, a further 20%+ will also be development based, supplementing the development team during quieter support periods.

This role by its very nature will require a solid, reliable and outgoing individual who performs well in customer facing situations. The role would best suit an all rounder who has perhaps come from a smaller company with exposure to many different skills.

In order to be successful in your application, you should have the following skills:

~ 3+ solid years experience carrying out technical customer facing work using:

~ Linux Admin

~ Linux shell scripting

~ Perl

~ Java

~ Some Oracle Admin (versions 10+)

~ Backup, recovery

The desirable skills would include:

~ Some Enterprise Edition experience

~ Strong SQL/PLSQL

~ Oracle Tuning

~ CVS or another source control
