RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs a variety of activities related to immunohistochemistry testing, electron microscopy and histochemical staining. Trains staff and residents in routine and developmental immunohistochemical methods and procedures. Ensures all testing performed adheres to departmental guidelines, safety and regulatory requirements, and quality control standards. Identifies and recommends improvements in operating procedures. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program and departmental policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:
Associates of Science or related field. 3 years of experience in immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridization, or FISH Experience working with preparation of samples and slides from human tissues. Good interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of test design and statistics

PREFERRED: Bachelor of Science or related field Histotechnician (HT), Histotechnologist (HTL), Medical Technologist (MT/MLS), or certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Experience and training in immunology and electron microscopy and experience with electronic equipment and computer systems
