ILS Manager/Director

This is a job opportunity within Government (Defence) for a 6 months + contract position. It is also an excellent networking opportunity to move into different projects around the site and develop your career/experience.

BACKGROUND

Campaign infrastructure delivers domestic and technical accommodation, force protection and surfacing to all 3 services, primarily land.

It is an operationally focused team with almost all if its 200+ equipment's on operations. The post holder is responsible for ensuring all new procurements are introduced into service with a full and effective support solution. This involves working closely with the relevant output/project managers, not just in advancing but in delivering key aspects, for example the support strategy, tender requirements, and relevant acceptance activities. The post holder is also responsible for assisting output managers in improving support arrangements for in-service equipment's. This involves activities ranging from audits of in-service support arrangements, ownerships of the technical documents library, delivering specific changes/milestones agreed with the infra assistant head and relevant output manager, to deliver improvements. The post holder is also responsible for the repair decider role, ensuring, through a dedicated C2 post and DSG repair manager, the delivery of an effective repair programme both in a year and future years. Asset management, including rollout of JAMES (through dedicated D post)

Applicants will be expected to have previous experience of maintaining mechanical (and in particular) automotive systems, ideally in a military environment and a familiarity with Military Land Equipment support systems and methodologies would be a distinct advantage (AESP s/TDOL as an example). Previous experience of supporting military vehicles in either a hands on capacity would also be benefit (but not essential) as the role is focussed on preventing issues found by users in the field by developing suitable engineering based responses to these issues and embodying these within technical equipment support solutions.
