ILS Engineer

An ILS Engineer is required for a 6 month contract based in either Portsmouth or Stevenage Paying Circa £38/hr Limited Company Rate D.O.E

Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of satellite systems. Their activities cover complete civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation systems, science and navigation programmes, together with avionics and a wide range of space equipment and associated ground infrastructure.
Candidates must have worked in a secure environment, ideally MOD, in the last 12 months.

The successful candidate will be required to apply for and receive a disclosure Scotland certificate prior to commencement of the contract.

Outline Job Profile
Reporting to the Supportability Engineering Lead to provide day to day support to the M&S Department
Will be responsible for practical application of the ILS principles DEF STAN 00-600 and ARM philosophy
LSA Generation and tasks - eg level of repair Analysis (LORA), Life cycle costing (LCC), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA)
Review subcontractor/Supplier ILS documents
Development and review of Ops, Maintenance and maintainability plans
Review maintenance concept
Review concept of use and test equipment (S&TE)
Review package, handling, storage & transportation (PHS&T)
Review support facilities
Review supply chain & asset management solution
Generation of DRACAS/FRACAS monitoring system
Obsolescence management planning
Spares/availability modelling

Qualifications and/or Skills

Essential
BTEC (or equivalent) Engineering or related discipline, good working knowledge of ARM&T modelling and its applications. Must have ILS experience and maintenance experience of comms equipments. UK Driving licence, good working knowledge databases and spreadsheets. Experience of EMA(ease of maintenance assessment), MTA ( Maintenance task analysis), and LORA Level of repair analysis would be excellent.

Desirable
Degree level. Understanding of the principles of ARM&T and ILS analysis based on military standards. Use of VISIO or similar packages

Previous Experience

Essential
Experience and proven background within the military Satellite Communications field, ARM&T and ILS analysis would be excellent.
