IBM Engineer – Chester – 6 Months

My client, a leading global IT Managed Services Provider require an IBM Engineer to join their team on site at a prestigious end client in Chester on a minimum contract of 6 months. Skills Required:

- IBM POWER7 hardware (primarily P795, but also P740 & P770)
- AIX 6 & 7
- Virtualisation (VIO with NPIV and load-balanced Shared Ethernet)
- HMC command-line
- NIM
- Clustering products (IBM TSA-MP and PowerHA)
- Exposure to SVC storage (with back-end V7000 & DS8000)
- Exposure to TSM Responsibilities:
- Technical SME on IBM Power, AIX and Virtualisation
- Maintaining and developing build procedure and process documentation
- Performing QA of build requests from the customer
- Performing QA of LPARs built by offshore teams
- Managing the LPAR build lifecycle
- Acting as conduit between technical teams
- Representing at a technical-level in customer meetings
- Assisting with the on-boarding of new technology capabilities into the Build Factory structure Chester - 6 Months - Market Rate
