IBM DBA/ARCHITECT

My client has a requirement for a Senior IBM Database Administrator/Architect join their company.

The role will involve providing database design, maintenance and administration with hands on expertise in implementing and maintaining various IBM technologies.

Core Responsibilities:

Design and create relational databases;

Design and create data models to support reporting and data management processes;

Design and implement data synchronization routines from source systems to the data warehouse (ETL, Validation);

Database performance monitoring and tuning;

Review and approve schema and design changes;

Manage the backup and restore process;

Configure, monitor and troubleshoot database issues;

Perform Root Cause Analysis for incidents and outages;

Setting up and maintaining Development, Test and Production environments for the DB2 database and other IBM application hosting Servers (IBM Infosphere, Cognos, Filenet, etc.);

Configuring Failover and Disaster Recovery.

The successful candidate will:

Demonstrate clear project management skills and the ability to work well within a team and have the ability to work independently;

Be enthusiastic and eager to learn, self-starter;

Have proven experience with IBM applications/systems including:

IBM Infosphere:

DataStage

QualityStage

IBM DB2 BLU;

Have Knowledge of Microsoft.NET Windows environments

Have Knowledge of IBM's Java API's for various IBM products.
