I&E Designer II (Instrument/Electrical)

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a DESIGNER II to join our client in Allentown, PA.

DURATION: 6 to 12 months.

PAY RANGE: Up to $42.84 per hour.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Our client is looking for an Instrument/Electrical designer with a strong background in electrical power and control systems. This position will be part of the engineering team supporting the design of plant electrical system installations and control systems for plant process automation.

Job Responsibilities:
- AC/DC power, component selection/sizing and InterconnecT wiring.
- Developing complete electrical installation packages.
- Working with the following:
- AC electric motors.
- Transformers, power panels and circuit protection devices, SCCR calculations.
- Lighting, grounding, raceway sizing.
- Designing Control panel design (schematic, assembly, and bill of materials).
- PLC or relay-based control logic and/or HMI systems.
- Ethernet networking basics.
- Instrument Tubing design.

Job Qualifications:
- Qualified applicants will have a working knowledge of the following:
- National Electrical Code (including Class I Division I/II explosive atmosphere electrical requirements and design).
- NFPA 70e.
- NEMA.
- UL 508A standards.
- European Union CE mark requirements.
- Minimum of Associate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology degree or a combination of education and three to hour (3 - 4) years of experience which provides the necessary knowledge and skills.

Preferred Job Skills/Certifications/Knowledge:
- Proficient in using Micro-Station.
- Knowledgeable in using MS Office software.
- Experience in selecting and sizing electrical components and determining associated power requirements.
- Knowledgeable in National Standards such as NEC, NFPA 79, NEMA, etc.
- You must possess effective oral and written communications skills.
- The applicant must possess a positive work ethic, team work, have a willingness to learn, have good problem solving and interpersonal skills, and must be able to readily accept and complete assigned tasks.
