HV Engineer

This can be either contract or permanent and based on a 6 month contract with a view to longer term for the right applicant.

Prepare, develop and check electrical designs to suit contract requirements.
This position primarily involves the design of HV systems associated with 132kV generating plant. As such the job holder will need to be able to provide expertise, guidance and assistance from a design and technical specification perspective.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the activities concerning the technical elements of the contract, primarily for the 132kV element of the projects.
Design calculations and protection studies (short circuits, earthing, thermal etc.).
Discussion with manufacturers.
Technical documents approval.
Knowledge of UK practices and power distribution regulations.
Ensure supplier equipment complies with the clients specifications.
Comply with the correct QA procedures.

Qualifications:

Qualified in Electrical Engineering, ideally to degree level (or equivalent) and with Chartered status or HND with relevant experience.Progressive Global Energy & Natural Resources is proud to be a member of EIC.
