HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Downtown San Diego, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Provide administrative assistance and coordination in support of human resources functions and programs, including benefits administration, recruitment/staffing, classification and compensation, performance management, training, and employment policies and procedures.
- Research, collect, and compile information on a variety of human resources topics; prepare records, reports, and summaries, and assist with interpreting and analysing data to support program recommendations; assist with comprehensive audits and reviews of data and records.
- Assist with maintaining hard copy and electronic employee records used for human resources administrative functions, including personal information, classification and compensation, benefits administration, position control, and other related employment data.
- Processes benefit enrollments and enrollment changes; support the final stages of the annual open enrollment period with data entry, review and verification of employee elections, and the preparation of data files for transmission to benefit carriers.
- Gather data, review invoices, and complete the preparation steps required to process monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group benefit plans.
- Provide ad hoc recruitment support which may include scheduling interviews, preparing interview and candidate packages, and recruitment filing.
- Support the review/update, development, approval, and implementation of employment-related policies. This may involve research and writing.
- Assist with the coordination of required training programs for employees (Prevention of Sexual Harassment, Ethics, Brown Act)

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of a broad range of HR functional skills, eg, recruiting, training, benefits and compensation administration, etc.
- Knowledge of: Standard theories, principles, concepts, practices, and procedures within Human Resources.
- Working with highly sensitive, confidential and emotional situations and assignments.
- Exposure and some experience coaching leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills with office software including Microsoft Office including Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and quality of work.
