Hull and Automotive Through Life Systems Manager

Background

Our Central Government Client is currently recruiting for a Through Life Systems Manager for an 8 month contract based in Bristol. The team provides system/sub-system/equipment level capability, availability, maintainability and sustainability to meet the specific requirements of the Output Manager. This is to be achieved in the most coherent and cost effective manner enabling the Programme to meet its outputs and objectives.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

Key Lead Responsibilities:
Using appropriate Project Management techniques.
Use the OSP tool set, process and working practices.
Assist in the development and production of the ET System Support plans/Inventoryplans/Task
/Activities to meet the required system/sub-system/equipment capability, availability, maintainability and sustainability targets, i.a.w the Acquisition Management System and other Technical Enabling Service directives, in support of the Upkeep and Update managers.
Assist in the development the ET 10 year plan for inclusion in to the Output Managers Platform 10 year Plan at the optimal resource cost by the direction, management and/or delivery of:
o Modification, Obsolescence Management, Equipment Failure Resolution, System/sub-system/equipment Capability Sustainment, and/or System/sub-system/equipment update and upgrade projects/programmes.
Provide the ET systems/sub-systems Manager with Business Cases for approval by the Output/Upkeep/Update Manager.
Conduct Risk Management for systems/sub-systems.
Conduct system/sub-system
Performance Analysis through regular review of equipment failure data and reacting to the COSL.. Raise Design Services task requirements with Update Manager.
Provide the ET systems/sub-systems manager with FOO information for inclusion/approval by the Upkeep and Update managers.
Provide system/sub-system/equipment support planning and/or Technical advice to the ET systems/sub-systems manager for approval by the Output Manager, Upkeep Manage, Update Manager, Upgrade Manager, Commercial, Financial staffs, Users and other stakeholders/staffs/support functions as required.
Produce and maintain the ET system/sub-system/equipment level Through Life Equipments Management Plans.
Provide and control publications for the ET system/sub-system.
For specific ET systems/sub-systems, act as the AV ISS Industry-facing focus and technical advisor for all system/sub-system Support issues.
Conduct investigations on ET system/sub-system non-availability
Root Cause Analysis, in conjunction with the appropriate
Platform Upkeep and Update Managers.
Monitor, measure and report contractors' performance against contractual requirements.
Recommend solutions for Continuous Improvement to the ET systems/sub-systems manager.. Evaluate GEMS and progress them through the process within the specified time frame for approval by Output/Upkeep/Update Manager.

Skills/Experience Required
It is highly desirable that you have central government/military experience
You will be required to provide a mechanical engineering point of view
Understanding of tracked armoured vehicles, equipment support processes and procedures
