HSSE Manager

A Renewable Energy client is looking for an HSSE Manager, who is fluent in Danish, to complete project work starting in September 2015 until the end of the year. The client will most likely extend the contract until the end of 2016 upon FID decision. The HSSE Manager will be based in the project office in Sweden, with travel to Germany too on a full time basis.

This role will constitute two parts: HSSE Deputy Manager Offshore for a Wind Pre-Construction projects and HSSE Manager for an Offshore Windfarm.

- Support the Wind Pre-Construction projects HSSE Manager.
- Provide the HSSE Management System for the Offshore Windfarm project and is contact person for all project related HSSE questions.
- Co-operate closely with the HSSE Manager and reports to the Project Manager with respect to general topics; and to the Development Manager for project related HSSE issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Support the HSSE Manager in all regards to HSSE management of the Pre-Construction projects
- Provide and maintain an Offshore Windfarm project specific HSSE Management System according to client's HSSE procedures. Provide and maintain relevant documents according to Danish legal requirements for an Offshore Windfarm.
- Provide and maintain the Construction HSSE Plan, an Emergency Response Plan and a Waste Management Plan for the construction period.
- Interface management with authorities in HSSE questions.
- Check contracts regarding HSSE requirements
- Participate in prequalification of contractors according to HSSE procedures.
- Attend in design review workshops, HAZIDs/HAZOPs with contractors
- Ensure that adequate HSSE audits/inspections are carried out on site and/or at the contractors' facilities.
- Check contractors Risk Assessments, Method statements, HSSE plans prior to commencement of work on site.
- Participate in project meetings.
- Implement Best Practice experience from other projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Degree in engineering/safety engineering or similar
- Qualification as HSSE professional in accordance with legal requirements
- Experience as a HSSE professional, preferably in the offshore wind industry, other energy sector or oil and gas business
- Experience in construction projects, mechanical, electrical and technical systems, process engineering and advising on HSSE matters relating to these
- Good knowledge of international and national (Danish) legal HSSE requirements
- Experience in dealing with risk management and incident investigation
- Be able to demonstrate a flexible, practical and proactive approach to managing operational HSSE challenges
- Communication abilities with regard to management, employees and business partners
- Mobile and willingness for occasional international travel
- Team-oriented, self-initiative, reliable and systematic manner of working
- Very good written and spoken English and Danish, further foreign languages are an advantage.
