We are now looking for a HSEQ Manager to join the team. You will be responsible for maintaining the QSMS and QHSE systems in accordance with applicable standards, rules, regulations and best practice guidance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Driving superior levels of performance and providing advice and support to Business Unit Managers in the promotion of a genuine safety culture across the Group.
- Monitoring and auditing the company's safety management systems and confirming statutory compliance within each business unit.
- Developing a corporate audit programme to ensure that proper governance is being exercised by the regional teams in safety and ship operations.
- Monitoring and auditing safety and quality standards and for ensuring compliance with these requirements. Monitoring the application of the ISM Code and ISO standards.
- Recommending the establishment or amendment of policies and procedures associated with the Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems across the Group.
- Undertaking mentoring and training within the Group and business units, as required, in support of the above objectives. Working with Business Unit Managers to improve on-board management systems and where practical standardise systems across the Group.
- To manage and implement HSEQ's standards and procedures for the company and projects involved.
- To promote the company's HSEQ Culture and initiatives to all employees and to provide training whenever required.
- Initiate and manage HSEQ projects for the company.
- Conduct HSE audits and ensure remedial action plans are in place, followed-up and closed out.
- To take up the role as the HSE representative of the company and be involved in meetings with clients and vendors whenever required.

Desired Skills & Experience

QUALIFICATIONS

- At least 5 years offshore based experience in a similar position (negotiable depending on quality of experience).
- Sound understanding of shipboard operations and seagoing experience (either Tanker or Offshore Support Vessel) in a senior position (Master Mariner Class 1 preferable).
- Substantial experience with shipboard safety management systems including understanding of ISM, ISO and ISPS code requirements.
- Working knowledge of QHSE safety management systems, implementation and working to such systems.
- Knowledge of IMO Conventions, ISM Code, ISPS Code and ISO9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 QSMS preferred.
- ISM and ISPS internal auditor qualifications are an advantage.
- Knowledge of planned maintenance systems and the reporting of planned and preventative maintenance carried out.
- Advise on offshore / shipboard safety issues.
- Knowledge and ability to assess suitability of contractors.
- Have the background and practical knowledge and ability to deliver safety training, such as Risk Assessment, Management of Change and Incident Investigation Techniques.
- Able to communicate and write technical reports in plain English.
- A detailed knowledge and understanding of maritime legislation.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience from Major audits is preferable.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- You will possess relevant safety certificates and come from within the marine/shipping environment.
- Relevant experience in the Offshore Industry will be a great advantage.
- Right to live and work in the UK essential.
- Some foreign travel will be required as a part of the role.
