Our client is an international renewables engineering consultancy. We are one of the UK's leading technical advisory organisations specialising in renewable energy power generation, including wind, solar, hydro, and marine and bio energy technologies. Our success to date is based on in-depth engineering knowledge and experience, applied in a practical manner to provide the best possible solutions and advice to our clients. Due to business growth and demand we are looking to recruit an additional Health and Safety Advisor who will report to the Health and Safety Manager and support the business in delivering its portfolio of projects. Our client's health and safety team deliver services both internally to support our growing global business, and also externally to clients developing projects both onshore and offshore, in various countries around the world. This role is intended for an experienced professional with health and safety experience who is looking to develop their skills to match our global reach, including offshore work. Job description The principal responsibilities of this post are: ?Provide health and safety support and guidance to project teams throughout the life cycle of various projects ?Ensure the company's management systems remains effective by assisting in the development of policies, procedures and guidance ?Carry out health and safety inspections ?Co-ordinate and develop in house training for managers and employees ?Make changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation ?Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced ?Carrying out site visits and audits and reporting both internally and to clients ?Writing H&S management plans to support project work ?Managing and providing internal and external CDM-C support ?Representing our client's and our Clients in project forums, including site work and investigations. Essential criteria The successful candidate will: ?Have a flexible proactive approach to work ?Be able to demonstrate a high level of problem solving ability and initiative ?Be able to demonstrate a client orientated approach to work ?Have a minimum of NEBOSH Construction Certificate in occupational health and safety management or equivalent ?Have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a health and safety professional ?Have experience in managing health and safety on construction projects ?Be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation ?Be able to demonstrate a practical and proactive approach to health and safety management ?Hold a driving licence valid for use in the UK ?Have strong IT skills particularly in MS Word and Excel ?Be able to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills ?Be willing to travel in the UK and internationally. Desirable criteria The following would be advantages: ?Having a working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 ?Hold membership of tech IOSH ?Have experience in a consultancy environment ?Have strong client facing skills.
