My public sector client are keen to take on a HR Projects Advisor.

This will be a London based role for an initial period of 6 months.

DUTIES
The successful applicant will work as a member of the Special Projects Team, playing a key role in advising and supporting the business with any restructuring exercises and in the smooth closure of a number of offices and other linked schemes within a very tight timeframe. This will involve taking the lead on much of the restructuring process including the linked redundancy - both voluntary and compulsory schemes as required and redeployment work. The post holder will also assist colleagues within the team with related relocation issues.

Main duties are, but not limited to:

* Voluntary Exit/Redundancy Schemes - Taking the lead to manage the exit schemes including preparing guidance documentation on the terms of the scheme. Dealing with queries from line managers, staff and pension administrators. Developing, issuing and updating letters, spreadsheets and related documents detailing outcomes and next steps and instigating action as appropriate.

* Redeployment Activity - Assisting colleague to support/up skilling line managers to support surplus staff. Liaising with Career Transition services and/or providing internal information and support to staff. Consulting closely with surplus staff and assisting them in finding alternative posts - including brokering internal and external moves and redundancy swaps. If required liaising with Cabinet Office and Unions during the necessary formal consultation, Period of Reflection and compulsory redundancy processes.

* Restructuring - Working closely with the Senior Management Team and Unions to develop and agree appropriate restructuring criteria and then collating, assessing, scoring data/evidence to inform the decisions of the selection panel in bulk restructuring exercises. Developing key documentation/communications to support staff and managers through the process. Providing ongoing advice/training and support to managers and staff through every stage of the process.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
We are looking for applicants from an HR background with experience of restructuring, redundancy and redeployment work. Sound knowledge of Excel, Word, mail merges and electronic filing systems is vital.

DESIRABLE QUALITIES

* Ideally up to date knowledge and experience of Cabinet Office protocols for handling surplus employees. (not essential)
* Up to date knowledge of relevant employment law
* Able to quickly assimilate new policies and procedures.
