HR PROJECT MANAGER - BANKING - HALIFAX - £288PD

We have a requirement for a Project Manager to join a leading retail banks change management team based in Halifax.

PURPOSE OF PROGRAMME:

The job will cover 2 cyclical regulatory projects. The projects are to ensure the bank is able to correctly run a payroll for the subsequent year and provide annual pay data to both the colleague and the HMRC.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The role will be to support the lead Project Manager throughout the project life cycle. Supporting in tracking project plans, working with key stakeholders to support delivery, creation of meeting packs and outputs, supporting all the governance activity, managing RAID and action logs, support with cost tracking and general project administration.

SPECIFIC KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Programme/Project Set Up and Closure: Agrees a clearly defined delivery approach for own area of responsibility.
- Governance and Reporting: Reports progress and status of own accountabilities to the appropriate stakeholders and also manages the progress reporting of other project workstreams on a timely basis, including identification and escalation of key risks and issues.
- Project Delivery: Follows the appropriate elements of the project delivery life cycle for own area of responsibility, including contributing to/completing formal reviews at appropriate points, oversees the project governance supporting the Lead Project Manager ensuring all key deliverables are completed.
- Implements appropriate project support processes to manage issues, identify and mitigate risks, monitor dependencies and record assumptions, and ensure that the right level of quality is achieved in all deliverables.
- Planning: Manages the project plan defining the deliverable milestones, tasks and activities; understands the project critical path and how own area of responsibility impacts this; monitors progress against project/workstream plan, identifies slippage and supports activity to recover.
- Stakeholder Management: Identifies key project or workstream stakeholders for their area of responsibility and contributes to the appropriate stakeholder communication plan.
- Risk: Timely and accurate completion of project deliverables, assessing and managing risks and identifying counter measures.

CORE SKILLS REQUIRED:

- This successful candidate must have previous experience in project management working as a project manager (workstream/project Delivery experience) or PMO, have the ability to manage stakeholders and facilitate meetings and workshops.
- The candidate would need to have managed small projects from start up to benefit realisation or supported larger projects/programmes of work
- They would need to be a self starter and be able to work in challenging environments.
- They need to have experience in working with Microsoft Project and general Microsoft applications and be able to evidence their regular usage - Typically for planning

This role will be based in Halifax 5 days per week.

RATE: £288 per day

LOCATION: Halifax, West Yorkshire

START: ASAP or January 2nd

DURATION: 6 months +
