My client, a large public sector organisation is urgently recruiting for a HR Manager to lead and direct the Human Resource team.

In this role the individual will take overall responsibility for recruitment activity and campaigns; collaborating with the business to fully understand its needs and objectives for both the current and future business challenges; measure employee satisfaction and identify areas that require improvement; maintaining the succession plan and talent pipeline; coaching managers on performance management issues and ensuring delivery of training requirements. Implementing new HR policies, procedures and processes; managing HR budgets and driving employee engagement.

Key tasks and deliverables:

To liaise widely with all staff officers, including liaison officers in the UK and abroad, disseminating policy, philosophy and views to achieve optimum staff output; simultaneously, acting as a focus for feedback.

Responsibilities:

- To monitor, and make recommendations to COS for, the adjustment and promotion of management and business strategy.
- Be responsible for Human Resources Management, including Representation, Complaints and the DCDC Establishment Table. Supervise the output of the Coord and Business Support Teams and ensure that the service provided by those teams effectively and efficiently contributes to the DCDC output.
- To develop and maintain links with outside agencies, both military and civilian, in support of DCDC output.
- To act as Secretary of the COS/AH meetings.
- Be responsible as DCDC point of contact for Business Continuity, Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act and act as the Unit Security Officer. To ensure that Equal Opportunities & Diversity legislation within DCDC is interpreted and applied appropriately.
- Responsible as Line Manager and Reporting Officer for subordinate military and civilian support staff.

As this role will include military HR, an ex-military person would be ideal however, this is not essential. The post will be responsible for 9 civil servants and 1 x RAF Sgt.
