Job Details

Position: Fixed term/Secondment, full time, 35 hours per week
Salary: PO1 - £31,152 -£33,306
Location: Town Hall Extension, Argyle Street WC1H 8NP

We are looking for an adaptable and experienced HR/Legal Systems Administrator to join us on a fixed term contract until March 2013. The successful candidate will provide system support for two major Council applications within HR and Legal departments. Day to day activities will include user support, account maintenance and training, fault finding, application upgrades, change management and communications. The role will be based within the ICT department, but there will be significant interactions with users in IT, HR and Legal departments.

You will need to be flexible and be a strong HR/Payroll systems administrator ideally from a local government background. You will benefit from having the ability to find and resolve IT faults and have a willingness to work with people from a range of teams across the Council. Attention to detail, good communication skills and knowledge of different IT systems are a must for this role.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

- Understanding of the role of HRMS in supporting organisational change and development to achieve improvements at both service and corporate levels
- Detailed knowledge of HR and payroll processes
- Highly IT literate and experienced in use of computer software.
- Diagnostic, problem solving and numeracy skills - able to identify and address the real issue
- Applicable experience of working in a systems administration environment
- Significant experience of working to support an HR/payroll system such as Oracle or SAP particularly in supporting a payroll processing function.

Desirable:

- experience of legal practice and time management systems support
- ICT graduate/IPPM Practitioner Certificate in Payroll and/or Payroll Alliance Certificate in Payroll Practice
- local government experience in a similar role.
