HR Information Architect and UX Consultant
Location: London
Duration: 6 Months
Rate: Circa GBP500

We are looking for an HR Information Architect and User Experience consultant to work on a critical HR global portal initiative. This contract position will work with the HR Online team that is responsible for developing, delivering, and supporting effective HR intranet websites. Advanced intranet/web portal usability consulting focused on Microsoft SharePoint, SAP HR and KM and related intranet technologies, web tools, products and methodologies.

Key Accountabilities:
This role is responsible for planning and delivering Information Architecture (IA) and User Experience (UX) activities for the global project team. Information Architect activities include but are not limited to:
* Inventory and Documentation of existing HR intranet content and sites
* Sitemap documentation (both old and new)
* Sitemap globalization; moving from a fully local to hybrid global/local IA
* Content analysis with content owners and users
* Card sorts and logical categorization analysis
* Content channel organization and planning
* Content migration analysis and planning
* Content localization analysis and planning

In addition to the specific tasks, this consultant will also develop the Usability / UCD practice within the team. Working closely with the team`s visual designer, business analyst, and content teams, this consultant will pick up and advance a UX practice that informs all design and content development activities. UX activities include but are not limited to:
* User Interviews
* User surveys and analysis
* Focus groups (plan, lead, and report)
* Time on task studies
* Observational Usability testing
* Heuristic analysis and testing
* UCD program development and documentation
* Content author training and support on principles of usability

Additional responsibilities will include advising and coaching HR Online team and leadership regarding IA and UX trends, methods, and capabilities. This role will also advocate, develop, and deliver a viable HR Online Usability practice that will continue to operate after the assignment ends. This consultant role could potentially evolve into that program leader role, or may simply transition the mature program when appropriate.

Experience:
- This position requires advanced understanding and application of real world usability principles, methods, tools and technologies.
- Experience implementing in a SharePoint portal environment is important, given that understanding of SharePoint metadata and personalization is a key element of implementing a new global IA and taxonomy.
- Ideal candidate has large company portal experience interacting with SAP and other HR solutions onsite and in the cloud.
- Specific experience and training in the principles of user-centered design and usability methods is required.
- Experience with HR content and data and related HR use cases are important.
- Success will require a self-starter who will jump into an in-flight project, evaluate and improve the ongoing UCD process, perform critical IA and UX tasks, and develop and deliver a functioning Usability practice.

Education:
The ideal candidate would have a bachelor`s or advanced degree in Web Usability, Design, Human Factors or related IT or IS field. Additionally, this senior consultant role would have a minimum of 5 years of combined experience in Information Architecture, User Experience, semantic web design, or closely related fields.

Other essential skills and knowledge:
We are looking for someone with a proven ability to support an inclusive environment where diverse points of view are valued as essential. The strongest candidate should also be able to utilize and maintain networks throughout the company and with other operators. Demonstrated success working within diverse, cross-functional teams; highly competent in relationship management and working with a diverse set of stakeholders is also important. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels in the field and office as well as outside of the company are required.
