HR Generalist - Maternity Cover

Reporting to the UK HR Director, this position will be part of the HR team (currently made up of 8 people) providing HR Generalist cover across the UK Business, alongside an existing HR Generalist and HR Administrator. The individual will assist with driving the organizational and people agenda while supporting the achievement of business results for multiple client groups through effective execution of all people processes & policies. In particular, they will deliver HR operational and transactional support to the Business Managers while also participating in creating and implementing various People Initiatives in line with business needs.

The Generalist will contribute to the delivery of HR by providing a hands on, timely, customer-focused and effective service associated with employee relations, retention, performance management, reward, training and development, benefits, and general personnel administration.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

- Demonstrable experience of HR business partnership
- Hands on Employee Relations experience - grievances, disciplinaries, dismissals via compromise agreements, redundancies and flexible working requests
- Compensation & Benefits experience
- Good all round experience of HR systems, policies, legal requirements programs & practices.
- Sound business acumen with focus on how HR drives business results
- Appreciation of importance in building relationships and networks
- Able to manage & deliver through virtual &/or project teams.
- Previous proven experience in dynamic and complex environments.
- Desirable - some knowledge of SAP
- Desirable - knowledge & experience in the IT industry
- Desirable - experience of working with a Shared Service Model

REQUIRED FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

- Excellent PC skills - advanced excel
- Familiarity with Internet based applications.
- Ability to effectively manage issues with high ambiguity & complexity
- Organisational change management skills
- Strong problem solving ability
- High attention to detail

QUALIFICATIONS

- Preferably CIPD qualified or working towards although this is not essential.
- Desirable HR/Business Studies degree or equivalent.
