HR Director - London

An experienced HR Director is required for an interim 5 month contract based in Central London working within a Central Government role. The suitable HR Director will be an outstanding professional who can build highly effective and influential relationships. The HR Director will need to possess a good understanding of HR Business Partnering, Organisation Design, Change Management, Engagement as well as Business Transformation and have a depth of experience in applying these to achieve positive and long-term outcomes for organisations and their people.

A key responsibility of the HR Director role will be to develop and implement the People Strategy which includes ensuring a people management approach that includes effective performance management. The HR Director will shape and drive organisational change, supporting the organisation in attracting, developing and engaging talented people.

The successful HR Director will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

* Experience of leading a large Human Resources function, shaping its direction, culture, values and goals (including HR Business partnering)
* A track record of achieving strong results through successfully building capability at all levels of an organisation
* Experience in managing significant and successful culture change through the use of Organisation Development techniques
* Experience of promoting an environment that champions staff well-being and encourages engagement. The successful HR Director will be an outstanding strategic HR leader who can build highly effective and influential relationships, innovative with a focus on business delivery and the customer. The HR Director will support the development of a highly engaged, motivated and diverse workforce.

The successful HR Director will be expected to demonstrate capability or potential against the following criteria:

* Have strong leadership skills including professional credibility, the ability to inspire others and the drive and determination to get results and develop internal capability
* The ability to build and maintain successful relationships, winning and retaining the trust of peers and senior stakeholders
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey messages to both internal and external audiences and to listen and act on feedback both individually and for the HR function
* Possess the drive, enthusiasm and commitment to deliver a demanding agenda
