HR Director - £700-800 p/d Ltd - 6 months - Manchester - Government

Main duties and responsibilities:

Overall responsibility for the department's personnel and training strategy; Overall control of the personnel/human resource function; Formulating personnel systems and strategies appropriate to the department's mission and goals; Recruiting and electing staff; Developing remuneration and reward procedures; Keeping executives informed on personnel and employee-relations policies, as needed, to preserve and facilitate departmental strategy; Planning and directing employee training and development programmes; Improving management/employee communications, including mediating in disputes and advising line managers on how to implement personnel policies; Ensuring compliance with employment law; Ensuring that health and safety procedures are adequate

Key tasks and deliverables:

Key area of responsibility will be industrial and employee relations including consultation and negotiation with recognised trade unions. See attached role profile

Essential Experience:

Industrial relations and employee relation with union background which is a must.
