The HR Business Partner will manage relationships with the business, making a strategic and pro-active contribution to the business direction, priorities and helping determine the people agenda.

Ensuring alignment and delivery of the HR and business strategic priorities, HR service delivery and managing relationships within HR.

This role is a 15 month maternity cover position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for overseeing the delivery of key business + HR deliverables through the broader HR team.
- Responsibility for extensive relationship management at a senior level in the business & HR.
- Expected to deliver initiatives that support and improve business performance which may have a financial impact on the bottom line.
- Confidant to CEO & management team, coaching them on complex and sensitive people issues.
- Support CEO and management team with complex change management activities including employment law and TU dimensions.
- HR lead on business level employee consultation & negotiation forums and manages staff representative & FTO relationships.
- Coaches HR & Senior HR consultants on business sensitivities, stakeholders and technical requirements.
- Finding pragmatic solutions which involve a degree of subjectivity and where views may differ between HR & business.
- Drives a number of Business As Usual HR activities in the business eg manpower, training plan, ER machinery, talent management, performance management utilising HR resource as appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

- Extensive experience in an HR generalist, consultancy or management role.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent with CIPD, preferably FCIPD.
- Employee Relations/TU/FTO experience.
- Experience of working at a senior level with senior management.
- Commercial insight of the organisation and the markets that it operates within, and the ability to apply this knowledge in strategic thinking and decision-making.
- Self starting individual, not afraid to challenge the status quo & able to hold their own with CEO & senior leadership team.
- Ability to lead change and shape organisational culture.
- Relationship & stakeholder management skills.
- Coaching, mentoring and facilitation skills.
- Understanding of financial drivers, personnel costs and budgets.
- Influencing and negotiation skills.
- Experience of working with Industrial & Engineering trade unions & FTO's.
- Communication, presentation & networking skills for a variety of audiences across all organisation levels and cultures.
