A potential opportunity has arisen to join a high profile client, working in London. The HR Business Partner will support senior managers to create a high performance workplace by developing strategies for improving performance, capability and skills, and reducing sick absence.

Responsibilities

- Plan, advise and support the implementation of change ensuring full consideration is given to people issues (eg Organisation Design and Development, TU Consultation, redeployment) and compliance with legal requirements.
- Identify and implement effective resourcing strategies
- Support Groups undertaking workforce and succession plans and ensuring the effective deployment of people.
- Collaborate with the business to fully understand their key performance issues, objectives and drivers and associated people requirements for both the current and future challenges.
- Work with managers to create learning and development plans that will build long term capability for the Department as well as meeting short term team needs.
- Support managers to identify critical posts and put in place succession plans.
- Ensures that leaders understand and are fully engaged with talent identification and succession activities and processes.
- Implementation of HR policies and providing effective services to support business change. Eg performance management
- Coaching and supporting managers to improve their leadership and capability to manage performance effectively.
- Provide constructive feedback of the business perspective to Civil Service Employee Policy (CSEP) and DfT Group policy team to ensure policies meet business needs.
- Assist the Senior Management Team to implement Civil Service Reform, identifying and planning with employee engagement interventions that will drive increased capability and performance within the business area.
- Develop and take ownership for the delivery of appropriate HR plans and specific HR interventions required for the successful delivery of the business objectives and People Strategy.

Essential Skills/Knowledge:

- CIPD Qualification ideally chartered status
- Previous experience of providing HR support within central government environments
- Strong understanding and experience of organisational design
- Strong understanding and experience of workforce planning
- Strong understanding and experience of absenteeism
- Knowledge of employment law
