HR ASSISTANT

My client, a large Public Sector organisation based in Sheffield has an immediate requirement for a HR Assistant to join their organisation on a 12 month FTC covering maternity leave offering a salary of £22,221.

As the HR Assistant you will take responsibility for the operation and continuing development of efficient and effective personnel administration including providing advice on personnel practice & procedures.

The HR Assistant will be responsible for all aspects of HR administration and managing the personnel function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HR ASSISTANT:

ADMINISTRATION OF:

Recruitment and appointment processes including:

- Advertising
- Interviews
- Pre-recruitment checks
- Contracts/New starter documentation
- The Computerised Personnel Information System
- Staff Database

Sickness Absence

- Absence recording and monitoring
- Return to work interviews

Performance Management Scheme and Incremental Progression

Contractual and occupational schemes such as

- Maternity
- Pensions

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HR ASSISTANT:

- Provide advice on personnel issues attending both informal and formal meetings as appropriate
- Ensure employment policies, procedures and guideline documents are kept up to date and in line with changes in employment law
- Maintain all personnel records
- Liaise with the Finance Manager, providing appropriate information for payroll as required
- Provide a Personal Assistant service to the Financial Administrator

KEY PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE HR ASSISTANT:

- At least part CIPD qualified
- Have experience of working in a personnel environment
- Highly organised and used to working to deadlines
- Experienced in using a range of computer software packages including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Have knowledge of pay and conditions
