Position Description:
SunGard Financial Systems provides mission-critical software and IT services to institutions in virtually every segment of the financial services industry. The primary purpose of these systems is to automate the many detailed processes associated with trading, managing investment portfolios and accounting for investment assets. These solutions address the processing requirements of a broad range of users within financial services, including asset managers, traders, custodians, compliance officers, treasurers, insurers, risk managers, hedge fund managers, plan administrators and clearing agents. In addition, we also provide professional services that focus on application implementation and integration
of these solutions and on custom software development.

Position Overview:

The HR Advisor has responsibility for delivering a professional HR service to the business to ensure their needs are met as efficiently and cost effectively as possible and support the HR team in the achievement of their objectives.

The HR Advisor partners with senior and junior business management to provide a comprehensive HR service, working closely within a HR generalist team based in Canary Wharf, together with other European and specialist HR functions to develop total solutions. Comfortable with the breadth and depth of their understanding of HR practices and policies, the role requires the resolution of wide range of HR issues in a creative and imaginative way.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide support to line managers on staffing in collaboration with Recruitment department.
- Prepare contracts of employment and welcome new staff via Induction Programmes.
- Manage exit interviews.
- Develop tools and practices to assist managers with performance measurement, rewards and recognition, and development.
- Advise and coach line managers on ER issues, balancing best practice within commercial constraints; ensure employees are treated in a fair/equitable manner.
- Facilitate conflict resolution between management and staff.
- Guide managers to develop management and leadership capability, maximize employee potential and promote career development.
- Advise on issues of employment legislation and ensure risk of legal exposure is minimised whilst ensuring HR policies and programmes are fully implemented in line with employment legislation best practice and corporate/business strategy.
- Work with line managers and specialist teams to ensure salaries and benefits are in line with market rate.
- Work with specialist teams to ensure that International Mobility activities are effectively managed in line with internal policy guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of policies and practices, which are flexible and sustainable, working closely with global HR teams and other functions to achieve global consistency.
- Undertake relevant ad hoc projects as required.
- Manage HR administration/payroll for designated business units.

Position Requirements:

Minimum experience required:

- Proven HR generalist experience in a fast moving, dynamic environment.
- In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR practices with a solid track record in managing/advising on sensitive legal issues as well as considering the impact of new legislation and devising new HR policies and procedures.

Educational Requirement:

- CIPD or equivalent experience.
- Degree qualified or equivalent.
