I am looking to hire a HR advisor for our public sector clients.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
Must have worked in an HR environment and have good knowledge on HR policies within the Civil Service
Ability to work efficiently and accurately, delivering quantity at pace.
Ability to plan and manage a range of activities maintaining a clear focus on priorities and deadlines.
Ability to explain HR policies and procedures in a clear and understandable manner.
Studying for/part-qualified or fully CIPD qualified

DESIRABLE
Good knowledge of HR systems. Currently uses the Oracle HR system.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The HR Team is small and dynamic, and covers the full range of HR disciplines, from pay and reward, recruitment, learning and development, change and engagement. This role supports the HR Operations team. The HR Operations Team is the first port of call for HR related queries. The work is key in supporting individuals and managers in HR matters and as it is often the first point of contact for people both inside and outside of the Department, is essential in maintaining a professional reputation.

Duties will include:

Dealing with a wide range of, sometimes complex, HR queries by telephone and email, including pay, annual leave, sickness absence, contract types amongst others
Liaising with other government departments and organisations to put loans and secondments in place and when ending such arrangements; producing contracts
Co-ordinating HR activity such as induction; promotion boards; advertising jobs on the CS Jobs portal; processing pay awards; recording appraisal markings
Advising employees on Parental Leave and administrating the process
Liaising with Occupational Health on, sometimes complex, sickness absence casework
Advising and supporting managers and acting as secretariat for disciplinary and appeal hearings
Ensuring invoices are processed promptly
Entering information onto Oracle
Provision of information required for answering HR related PQs and FOI
There will also be opportunities for you to lead on specific HR projects.
