HPC/Storage Middleware Engineer

CURRENTLY WE ARE LOOKING FOR A HPC/STORAGE MIDDLEWARE ENGINEER

This position works as part of an engineering team that supports infrastructure and Middleware utilized in seismic processing and other workflows.

The role is within the High Performance Computing Services department.

This position is our specialist in tape storage and processing. We utilize a common Legacy environment and an HSM environment that utilizes IBM's HPSS technology. This role will support this technology.

The client is Shell and they seeking an High Performance Computing (HPC) engineering resource with 5 or more years experience. In addition to above, this role is focused primarily on HPC Middleware software and job scheduling solution design, development, deployment, and support. Shell have a large and diverse High Performance Computing (HPC) environment, in a heavy seismic and simulation environment.

Installationsexperience with IBM/HPSS a major "plus" (2 years experience, proficient/high-skill level)

Required skill set (basic)

* Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x and above, or equivalent Linux (3 years experience, high-skill level)
* Databases: MySQL, Oracle (highly desirable; 2+ years experience, proficient-skill level)
* Programming and Scripting skills: C (& PROC)/C++, Python, Perl, Shell Scripting, PHP, etc. (3+ years experience, must-have a few or all, high-skill level)
