HPC Engineer - Contract - London - Investment Co

Investment banking client seeking an HPC engineer to join a team that provides strong technical consultancy to the rest of the HPC support team and HPC's clients. The members are skilled developers with solid experience on software scalability and parallel computing requiring a focused attention to detail, analytical skills and a proactive attitude aiming to improve platform scalability and reducing the overall HPC system complexity through automation. The successful applicant will be able to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical members and create professional, comprehensive documentation. As a senior member of the team, they will be expected to mentor junior members and break down knowledge silos in the team and across other teams. The ideal applicant will apply consultative skills to speed up grid application on-boarding and reduce overall product time-to-market. They will help client application developers from making well known mistakes and help to apply grid best practices providing code snippets and examples when required. KEY SKILLS - -GRID SERVER DEVELOPMENT (Complex multi-threaded grid applications)-C++-JAVA-Windows and Linux environments-CVS or Subversion
