I am currently looking for an experienced HPUX Systems Administrator with a strong HP ServiceGuard background to work for a client of mine in Centurion, South Africa on a 4 month extendable contract.

DUTIES - -Preparation of the Operating System Environment + Hardware
-Operating System Software Installations and Patch Management
-Physical Disk Assignment to volume groups and logical volume creation.
-Creating DB/Application Design ie from an operating system point of view
-Configure Operating System Backups
-Implement DRP Strategy w.r.t Operating System Environment
-Restore and Recovery of Operating Systems(Make recovery/Ignite)
-Designing and architecting infrastructure-related programs
-Support/Administrate Operating System and Hardware
-Operating System Monitoring/system tools (integration with SM Tools)
-Operating System Optimization ie Performance tuning Virtual Memory increase
-Operating System and Hardware Upgrades/Migrations
-Preventative Maintenance
-Application Migrations ie Consolidation of applications
-Implement Changes on Production Servers Incident and Problem management
-Day to Day admin tasks ie. Extending file systems, remove dump files, etc
-Secure Operating Systems
-Implement Operating Systems Auditing
-Setup/Support Replication on Operating System
-Setup/Support MC ServiceGuard Clustering (including Network Load Balancing)
-Document System Operating System Procedures and Activities (Ops Instructions, etc.)
-Ensuring Compliance with HP Software Licensing Agreement
-Potential Risk identification
-Contacting HP Vendor for Operating System support
-Contacting HP Vendor for Hardware vendor support
-Assist application developers with problems ie As per Application developers request
-Research and evaluation of Operating System products and Hardware ie Strategy on future Operating System releases and Hardware releases. (S5)
-Operating System Scripts and other Operating System Automation Tasks
-Operating System and Hardware Capacity Planning
-Hardware evaluation and integration
