Harvey Nash is seeking a Housing Benefit Processor to join a public sector client based in Alloa, for an initial 13 week contract which may be extended following this.

Working as part of the company's assessment and billing team you will be responsible for processing and decision making for housing benefit and council tax reduction applications.

Responsibilities:

. Correctly classifying housing benefit overpayments in accordance with regulations
. Making outbound calls to customers to verify claims
. Assessing and making awards of discretionary housing payments
. Processing changes in circumstances
. Complying with relevant regulations and case law

Experience required:

. Previous local government experience
. Excellent numeracy skills
. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a professional telephone manner
. The ability to work under your own initiative with minimal supervision
. Previous experience of the Northgate Orbis IT system is desirable
