Hospital Inventory Analyst

Purpose:
To backfill an FTE who is on medical leave.

Duration: 6 months

Description:
Work independently and under the direction of System Administrators and Project Managers
Research, standardize, and clean up data on fixed asset subsystem to prepare for physical inventory reconciliation
Standardize and validate data; format and prepare for updating fixed asset subsystem and other databases
Analyze and compare data from fixed asset subsystems vs. biomedical databases to identify assets that need to be disposed, transferred, or improved and standardized
Research procurement systems for resolution of missing or inconsistent fixed asset data; work with Accounting groups to remediate
Work with Accounting and other departments to resolve issues as needed
Travel up to 25% of time to facilities to oversee physical inventory counts by contractors (as needed)
Reconcile inventory data to fixed asset subsystem data (as needed)
Research discrepancies, pull purchase orders to identify and contact requisitioners or other staff as appropriate, and follow up as needed to determine existence and location of assets (as needed)
Follow up as appropriate (revisit facilities to inventory assets; facilitate asset transfer or disposition as needed)

Required Experience:
3 years of data analysis, standardization, reconciliation, and remediation experience
2 years of experience in an accounting or finance related position
Intermediate Excel skills
Beginner to Intermediate Database (Access) skills
5 years of general office experience (using email; ability to write business-appropriate emails and other correspondence using standard grammar, spelling, and punctuation)
45 wpm typing speed
Healthcare or Managed Care experience preferred
Ability to successfully navigate a Matrix organization
Experience with medical equipment preferred
Experience in a hospital or health care environment preferred
AA/AS degree
Attention to detail

Flexibility to perform a variety of detailed accounting functions and meet established deadlines.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to build good internal relationships within the department and across department lines.
Work under minimal supervision

Travel Required:
Up to 25% (Local) Reimbursable

Standard Work Hours:
Flexible - normally you will be working normal business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some adjustment may be needed as scheduling conflicts arise.
