Environmental Services Supervisor

Department - Environmental Services Vacaville, Napa, and Fairfield

Worksite Address Vacaville, Napa, and Fairfield, CA facilities

Travel will be required*

CANDIDATE WILL NEED A DMV CHECK WITH CLEAR DMV.

WILL PAY MILEAGE BETWEEN FACILITIES IF REQUIRED.

Some travel between Napa, Fairfield and Vacaville.

Purpose of this Project:
The purpose of this position is to find the right candidate who will be experienced at ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for the Hospital and has the background and experience in a similar type position. This candidate will be working with a team of Managers who will be following procedures and standards for the Hospital and ensuring the work is done by the Environmental Services team. Candidate must enjoy working in a team environment and can build success as a team of over 101 employees. Candidate must also have excellent interpersonal, communication, & listening skills. Candidate will be Responsible for 24 hour/7days a week site direction of environmental services assigned staff, performing cleaning/project work at a Medical Facility, usually a Medical Office Building. Candidate will monitor environmental services program to ensure that building(s) are maintained in a safe, clean and operationally effective condition.

Hours of Position:
May Vary-Starting time will be second & third shift. Tuesday thru Saturday. Candidate needs to be flexible.

Requirements:

Education Required:
Associate's degree required, two (2)  years of experience in a directly related field, OR High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required with additional 2 years of related experience (Candidate must have prior Healthcare or similar experience).

CANDIDATE MUST ALSO HAVE MULTIPLE YEARS WORKING IN A UNION ENVIRONMENT MANAGING A LARGE GROUP OF UNION EMPLOYEES.

American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services (ASHES) or International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA) certification preferred.
Previous experience in a lead or supervisory position required (usually 2 years).
Management skills, including interviewing, organizing, planning, and problem solving skills
Knowledge of hospital infection control, sanitation protocols and cleaning methods preferred.
Description/Duties:
1) Supervises staff concerning overall areas of responsibility which include quality standards, department policies and procedures, and service levels.
2) Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
3) Coordinates, schedules, and conducts employee training/development necessary to meet established performance standards, teamwork, and service criteria.
4) Performs area inspections with assigned EVES staff, to evaluate/monitor performance, customer satisfaction, and infection control program compliance.
5) Ensures general inspections are completed daily and formal inspections are completed monthly in all building areas.
6) Supervises grounds keeping employees (if applicable) to ensure that work techniques, quality assurance standards, department policies and procedures and job specification.
7)Provides ancillary support for scheduling and coordination of conference room setups, audio-visual equipment supervision.
8)Manages and maintains inventory supplies with established par levels.
