Position Title: HIM Senior Consultant

Worksite: National Healthcare Consulting Firm

Job Function: Management of small engagements or assigned projects within large consulting engagements

Location: Atlanta, GA

Travel Requirements: Travel to Tampa, FL

Job Type: Full-Time

Duration: 1 - 1 1/2 years

Project is based in Tampa - ICD 10 transition project - need more of a leader - HIM - organize people and projects and give direction.  Long term engagement until end of 2014.   Nurse/coder type background ideal, utilization review, great leader, project manager type

Position Description:

The individual in this position is responsible for assigned projects within large consulting engagements with client organizations, centered on significant change initiatives in the healthcare industry, such as ICD-10 transition, EMR implementation and meaningful use, etc.  In this consulting role, you will interact regularly with client staff and support the development of the firm's overall long-term relationships with the client organization.  You will be responsible for leading a specific project within overall client engagements, serving as a Senior Analyst/Workstream Project Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead the development of detailed project work plans
- Lead and/or support all work group activities and tasks; conduct weekly status meetings
- Collect, analyze, and evaluate information/data to support decision making and direction
- Work collaboratively with cross functional teams; participate in Steering Committee, as required
- Monitor and communicate progress toward milestones
- Identify, document, and communicate risks, issues, needs, and decisions
- Resolve issues and mitigate risks

REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILL SETS:

- At least 5-7 years healthcare experience required, preferably with provider organizations, with knowledge of key business functions such as revenue cycle, health information management (HIM), systems and data management, or similar functions
- Project management experience and familiarity with project management tools and best practices required
- Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (WORD, POWERPOINT,  EXCEL, ACCESS)
- Experience with Microsoft Project or similar tool a plus
