High Voltage Project Engineer Job

SR. HIGH VOLTAGE ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Phoenix AZ.

TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- Minimum of seven (7) years of electrical design and engineering experience in high voltage.
- Must have Electrical Power EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) examples are Solar, Wind Nuke, Fossil

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Prepare the scopes of work, specifications and other documentation required to support this business model.
- Management of outside consulting engineer firms who may be asked to prepare scopes of work and specifications.
- Reviewing the scope of works, engineering documentation and specifications prepared by outside consulting firms.
- Would also be required to support the High Voltage Project Manager who manages the EPC Contractors for the substation and transmission line facilities.
- The High Voltage Project Engineer (HVPE) will develop conceptual engineering designs, direction, consultation and support of substation and transmission line facility projects.
- Planning complex transmission interconnection projects involving medium and high voltage (34.5 kV to 500kV) substations, switchgear, transformers, and power distribution electrical systems from a functional and specific perspective.
- Works closely with the Developers, Engineering Team, Construction Management, Project Management, and Utilities to assure design is constructible and is fully integrated into the project schedule.
- Researches, resolves and provides direction on behalf of our engineering team to procurement, construction, commissioning, O&M, Operations, Maintenance, outside consultants and specialty contractors on Requests for Information.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Demonstrated Project Engineer experience in substation and/or transmission engineering.
- Experience in the design of high voltage equipment preferred including switchgear, transformers, power distribution, circuit breakers, protective relay schemes, overhead collection systems, overhead and underground transmission lines.
- Experience assisting with or the commissioning of high voltage substations and associated equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing calculations and analysis of power distribution systems preferred including voltage drop, load flow, and short circuit studies.
- Prior experience in developing and reviewing high voltage technical specifications.
- Working knowledge of local codes and standards such as NESC, NEC, NFPA, ANSI & IEEE.
- BS Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering required, PE preferred.
