High Power Electrical Systems Design

Modis are currently recruiting for an Electrical Systems Design Engineer to work on High Power products for an exciting and growing company.

The contract is for an initial 6 months, though it is expected that once an initial contract is completed an extension will be offered due to the project duration and work forecasted.

The primary purpose of this role is to design controller boards and system level wiring diagrams as required in the development of present and new power electronics products for advanced energy recovery systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*Schematic design of analogue, digital, protection and supervisory circuits for high-power, three-phase grid-connected inverters.
*Design supporting electrical cabinets and system-level wiring diagrams, including MCB - contactor - relay selection, cable sizes, point-to-point, labelling, etc.
*Document the electric and electronic design to the required level of detail, including calculations, simulations, BOMs, schematics, component specifications, etc.
*Provide labour and material cost estimates for work packages as requested by project management.

KEY BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
1.At least 5 years of experience of circuit design in a cost sensitive market including:
2.Proficient at using lab test equipment and trouble-shooting controller boards.
3.Experience designing system-level wiring diagrams for three-phase applications.
