The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing professional expertise and skills in the work of the Academic Registry in relation to data returns to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).
They shall lead & co-ordinate the submission of studen't data returns to external agencies (inc. HEFCE and HESA), analyse and model the data which underpins core management information and produce management information reports which support data quality improvement and strategic evidence-based decision making.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a similar position within an HE Institute.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
- Working with the External Returns Officer, to coordinate the submission of the HESA Student Return, ensuring that accurate and credible data is submitted.
- To work with the Deputy Academic Registrar (Studen't Administration) and colleagues in Strategic Planning, Financial Services and Executive on responses to data requirements and audit requests by external bodies.
- To prepare reports and analyses for Executive, Deans and senior colleagues in the Academic Registry on key issues and trends in submitted HESA data, including possible impacts for performance indicators.
-To analyse and prepare reports for the University on documentation from HEFCE. To prepare and submit, the Higher Education Studen't Early Statistics (HESES) return (upon which the university's funding for teaching is based).
- To work with data from HESA and HEFCE as part of the regular funding and monitoring cycle to improve understanding of internal data requirements and the impact of data in the wider external environment.
Experience with Banner Studen't Systems would be advantageous.
