HEALTHCARE EXCHANGE ACCOUNT MANAGER

DURATION: 6-month contract (W2)

LOCATION: San Diego, CA 92121

POSITION SUMMARY:

- This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our Vendor Management Organization (VMO). The Healthcare Exchange Account Manager plays an important role in our vendor-based support operations.
- In this role, you will establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders, health insurance exchange partners, and drive operational performance by managing vendor teams to ensure that we can deliver the best possible service to our members.
- You will use your vendor/account management skills and innovative thought processes to recommend solutions that will help improve evolving workflows and report status and progress to senior management.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manages all facets of the Exchange VMO operation for assigned region(s) and functional areas.
- Interacts with regional and functional partners, vendors, and health insurance exchange partners.
- Identify process improvement opportunities within current workflows, channel feedback to internal/external stakeholders, and support vendor in ongoing activities.
- Collect vendor data and monitor vendor performance (SLA compliance, KPMs, etc).
- Managing, monitoring, documenting, and resolving operational issues associated with the partner relationships involved in healthcare exchange operations.
- Responsible to coordinate the activities required to ensure that internal and external stakeholders are satisfied with the level of services provided.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent practical experience
- 4-7 years' related experience in managing relationships with large scale accounts or vendors, preferably in the health insurance industry
- Must be proficient with MS Office products (Project, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Examples for Excel: Ability to use complex formulas, pivot tables/charts, vlookups, and macros
- Ability to summarize disparate information into a concise and logical form to effectively communicate with others both in writing and in conversation
- Demonstrates a positive attitude to solving problems and overcoming obstacles by rethinking situations
- Identifies opportunities for process or policy improvement to make it easier to serve customers, collaborate internally, or solve big issues and communicates effectively to drive organizational change
- Ability to manage projects and analyze operational and vendor metrics
- Strong organizing skills, with the ability to prioritize and respond to shifting deadlines
- Ability to manage diverse and deadline-oriented workflow

PREFERRED EDUCATION, ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Vendor management, consulting, or large account management background a must with a strong comfort level in presenting to executives
- Ability to use quantitative data (eg reports and spreadsheets) to prioritize and manage work
- Ability to use qualitative data (eg case history and customer feedback) to assess situations, make decisions and recommendations, and coordinate resolutions
- Ability to ask the right questions to build an understanding that will drive the right analysis
- Experience writing data-driven reports, working with data to create reports
