Health & Safety Renewable Manager - 80K

Our client currently has 10 projects in theUKfor the design, build and commissioning of Waste to Energy Plants and Bio Mass Plants in theUK. The projects are at various stages in the construction phase, 2 projects are expected to be completed early 2014 and others have yet to start on site. The overall purpose of role is to improve and reinforce our UK H&S approach. To review our current H&S systems and if necessary, to design, develop and implement a H&S management system to ensure that our client is operating in total compliance with current UK legislation, regulations and best practice. Key responsibilities: * In charge of all H&S issues related to ourUKcontracts and will report to our client's Construction Director. * Responsible for the H&S across our entire client sites in theUK. * Ensure that, where appropriate, there is coordination and consistency between the approaches adopted for theUKprojects and the global client policies. * Appoint and manage Regional Health & Safety Manager. * Appoint and manage health and safety representatives on each site. * For each contract, define and propose to the JV board the General H&S policy, and ensure that this policy is implemented and followed by all and that policies are reviewed and up to date and provide regular updates to the directors and the JV board on all H&S issues. * Coordinate with the civil contractors and sub-contractors on health and safety. * Manage relationships and correspondence with HSE on each site. * Organise and implement the H&S training for our client's representative on site and for all companies or subcontractors working through a contract. Ensure that all people working on site on the behalf of our client will have the relevant qualification or accreditation for the job they are in charge to do. * Implement and follow a monthly H&S reporting for each project and provide an overall report for allUKactivities. * Check that the site security is in place and ensure protester action plan is being followed and ensure sites are compliant toUKsafety regulation. * Organise time to attend regular meetings on each project and in particular UK Project Safety meetings on behalf of our client where practicable and advise Project Directors accordingly on any improvements that need to be implemented. * Guide and support the project team on compliance with CDM Matters. Qualifications and Experience: * Diploma in Health & Safety * Member of IOSH * Of the Renewable Energy Sector and/or Waste to Energy * Multi-site experience * Managing people Package: * Up to £80K * Stakeholder pension (employer contribution match up to 6%) * Life Assurance 4 X basic salary * Company car * Non-contractual bonus
