Health, Safety and Environmental Associate Job

HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATE needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Ridgefield, NJ.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of company health, safety, and environmental management systems (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local environmental regulations and permits at the site.
- Develop policies, standards and procedures and work with management to ensure uniform compliance regarding safety health and environmental issues.
- Coordinate reporting, tracking, and trend analysis of workplace incidents, injuries and illnesses as well as environmental incidents.
- Maintain metrics of facilities' HSE performance, and ensure that performance data is communicated to the facility employees and the corporate environmental, health and safety.
- Direct and facilitate the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of required safety, health and environmental programs and processes.
- Facilitate the development and maintenance of facility emergency response plans and ensure that all affected employees receive training as needed.
- Provide guidance and expertise for all safety, health and environmental training within the facility.
- Facilitate and provide guidance and expertise in safety, health and environmental activities such as safety inspections and evaluations.
- Work with internal and external organizations to coordinate safety, health and environmental audits of the facility.
- Provide guidance and expertise in conducting safety, health and environmental risk assessments for new or existing processes or equipment.
- Assist in the management of the hazardous waste program: collection of hazardous waste, central storage area, satellite storage areas, load/unload tank trucks

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BS in environmental engineering, safety or related subject
- A least five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001) or Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) experience
