I am looking to hire a Health & Safety Advisor for our Public sector client

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ability to manage staff performance and to take appropriate action.
- Ability to drive and manage work activities, work flexibly, and to adapt to a changing environment.
- Ability to devise and implement appropriate Health & Safety strategies, identify problems, to analyse information, explore and establish key issues and to use sound judgment to reach informed solutions.
- Ability to monitor performance standards and report to appropriate internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Demonstrate a high level of commitment to equality and diversity within the workplace.
- Demonstrate a professional approach which generates credibility and confidence amongst Homes for Client's Board, Executive, Managers, staff, external partners and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrates creativity, initiative, diplomacy, resourcefulness and resilience, in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to demonstrate behaviors which embrace Clients vision and mission.
- Ability to attend evening meetings and to visit various locations in Client's such as our area offices.
- Available to visit incidents/accident sites both within and outside of core working hours..

QUALIFICATION

- Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health.
- Current registration as Registered Safety Practitioner (RSP) with Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (preferred).

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

- Minimum of 3 years' experience of working in a management role within a Health & Safety Service, including experience of implementing new and creative solutions to maximise performance.
- Demonstrated track record in leading and delivering Health & Safety projects, objectives and services within deadlines and to agreed targets/performance indicators.
- Experience of communicating effectively both verbally and in writing to senior management and Board level audiences.
- Experience of working with trade unions.
- Experience of managing and motivating teams.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office and specialist IT packages.
- Precious experience of managing budgets using financial control mechanisms.
- NEBOSH Diploma Level 6 or equivalent.
- Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
