I am currently looking to recruit a Health Physicist for an initial 6 months contract based in the North West. To act as a Health Physicist at the site covering the day to day work demands in a radiological capacity. This will include monitoring people, plant and facilities. Ongoing projects on the site include the decontamination and decommissioning of plutonium contaminated buildings; land remediation; waste production; and the receipt and disposal of waste. The role will touch on some or all of these areas and will be varied. The individual will be pro-active and flexible and will look to improve and develop the radiological awareness of employees at the site. You will have a flexible approach to your working hours and be prepared to work closely with the site RPA. In addition to the advisory role you will be expected to audit plant systems, service providers and support the development and implementation of emergency instructions. There is the possibility you will deliver training and assess practical HP performance. There will be a requirement for you to wear a range of personal protective equipment and respiratory protective equipment. Good communication skills and the ability to work with others are essential.
