HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER - INVERNESS - £185-£200PD (ASAP-DEC 2015)

Our INVERNESS based client has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER until END DECEMBER 2015.

The successful candidate will monitor and coordinate the management of an effective and compliant health and safety function including:

- The development of appropriate policies and procedures
- Staff training, audits and inspections as required ensuring an effective health and safety culture is promoted
- Ensure there is an effective and robust 'Safety Management System' (SMS) in place and that it meets its Health and Safety obligations
- Ensuring effective interpretation and compliance with all relevant legislative guidance and best-practice.
- To coordinate a team of Health and Safety points of contact.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Relevant and up to date knowledge and experience of Health and Safety
- Experience of under taking work based risk assessments, work station assessments, Health and Safety inspections and audits
- Experience of reviewing safe working method statements and competency of staff
- Experience of under taking accident investigations and near misses
- Experience of planning, developing and delivering Health and Safety training
- Experience of report writing management reports and papers in relation to Health and Safety
- Experience of analysing and interpreting statistical Health and Safety data and making robust recommendations to ensure continuous improvement.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
- Ability to interpret Health and Safety legislation
- Ability to build effective working relationships and communicate effectively at all levels, working with staff and students with a broad range of capability
- Credibility when operating alongside regulatory and enforcement agencies eg HSE, Rescue and Fire Service
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships

QUALIFICATIONS

- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- CMIOSH or equivalent
