Head of Underwriting

THE CLIENT
Green Park are working with a Leading UK Financial Services agency to hire an Interim to Head up its Trade Finance and Insurance Credit Underwriting team.

THE INTERIM ASSIGNMENT
The agency is seeking to build a greater awareness of its products and consequently is going working through a structured programme to improve its capabilities to handle larger volumes of business and deliver an enhanced customer experience.

To support the delivery of this change agenda they are seeking an Interim with a background in International Trade Finance and Insurance Credit to head up its Underwriting team.

Responsibilities will include:

- Facilitating and driving the changes created through the current programme outputs
- Taking prime responsibility for the credit analysis, due diligence and compliance matters associated with applications received from Banks, Credit Insurance Brokers and Exporters.
- The day-to-day running of the underwriting team, ensuring all direct reports fully understand their roles and responsibilities and are motivated to deliver a quality service and focused on meeting the business aims.

THE INTERIM MANAGER
The successful Interim Head of Underwriting will need to be able to display the following requirements:

- Extensive experience of leading and coaching teams within the Commercial Banking, Trade Finance or Credit Insurance sector
- Strong analytical approach and excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
- The ability to work at pace and to manage and drive a programme of essential change
