Job Title - Head of Technology & Innovation
Contract - 3 months
Location - Milton Keynes
Knowledge of, and experience in the UK rail industry would be highly desirable

Head of Technology & Innovation required initially 3 months, location Milton Keynes.

Ideal background is someone who has lead a technology and innovation or research and development team before, including experience of gaining funding from Europe.
Also experience in collaboration projects across Europe, including academic institutes and industry. Understanding of technology readiness levels and managed projects from technology level 1 all the way through to 8.

To lead the development and delivery of my clients Innovation and R&D programmes to achieve sustainable efficiencies and business performance improvements

Essential

*Degree educated
*Is a proven self-starter, able to influence senior stakeholders, lead virtual teams and
motivate team members
*Experience of developing significant strategy and delivering complex programmes of work
*Can enthuse other people and is an able influencer of key stakeholders intra and inter discipline and across the organisation and industry
*Strong commercial focus and financially astute, with proven ability of risk management
*Relevant experience in successful management of major R&D programmes of work
* Knowledge of the principles of R&D investment processes and procedures

Key Accountabilities
Lead the development and implementation of my clients Technical Strategy, shaping the Technology and Innovation change programme within the client and with external stakeholders, to drive innovation and R&D programmes.
Deliver specific projects, programmes or a portfolio within time, cost and quality parameters, acting as Accountable Manager or Delivery Manager as directed for a specific project or portfolio of projects, ensuring benefits are tracked and realised.
Identify and efficiently realise opportunities to deliver new and improved value from technology and innovation from the business using broad technical, commercial and stakeholder expertise.
Lead the prioritisation of innovation and R&D activity, balancing and aligning competing needs and opportunities for investment with the allocation of budgets in order to meet shareholder and stakeholder expectations.
Support the Engineering Director and Professional Heads to champion, develop and maintain the clients Technical Strategy with the Asset Management Services team.
Lead the implementation, delivery and governance of the innovation process and tools including the introduction of technology so that the objectives and strategy can be achieved.
Establish and drive plans to ensure Asset Management Services and the wider business has the right knowledge, skills and experience to manage and exploit technology and innovation.
