Head of Strategy, Architecture & Risk Management, Corporate Services T

Eingestellt von Randstad (Schweiz) AG

Gesuchte Skills: Support, Design

Projektbeschreibung

Randstad IT Professionals is actively looking for a HEAD OF STRATEGY, ARCHITECTURE & RISK MANAGEMENT, CORPORATE SERVICES TECHNOLOGY for one of our major clients, a global bank headquartered in Zurich.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Leading Strategy, Architecture & Risk Management (SAR) for the Corporate Services Technology (CST) department, you will be responsible for the provision of consultancy and support to the sub-department managers within CST, enabling the clear definition of long-term strategy for each function, definition of business functional and technical architectures and the identification, mitigation and management of risk.

What is our expectation towards the building of a SAR team from an external role?

This role will have over-arching responsibility for risk management within CST and will maintain a clear view of all operational risks within the department, all our external and internal audit commitments, our SOX commitments and other commitments to corporate and divisional risk management initiatives. Question: can this (audit and SOX) be part of an external role? You will also have expertise to undertake technology risk assessments as necessary where we have technical quality or security concerns. You are able to provide expertise, support and guidance, not simply administrative oversight. Where complex audit requirements exist, or where incident and problem history indicates instability within an application or set of applications, you will support the sub-departments organisation in analysing root cause and defining a remediation approach.

Likewise, whilst the SAR role is the senior department architect', and as such has a suite of responsibilities for communicating, monitoring, administering and reporting on architecture standards compliance on behalf of the central architecture functions, and for ensuring CST's full engagement in central architecture initiatives, the role is also intended to function as centre of expertise on architecture for all sub-departments to leverage. Above and beyond assisting sub-departments in the development and maintenance of key architecture artefacts, there is sometimes a need to assist on specific projects. In some areas, business priorities tends to be driven predominantly by tactical concerns and tight deadlines, which often results in minimal time being available to review architectural aspects and key design decisions. The SAR lead must be able to engage quickly and flexibly to mitigate this risk by supporting the project team in this work.

The firm has established Design Authority boards for the IB & PB/WM platforms and for major programs. The SAR role will ensure CST's effective engagement on these boards and their various sub-streams. In addition, we will establish new Design Authority boards for the GC, TB&C & IT4IT areas during 2014, and the set-up of these new structures will fall to the SAR role to initiate, working in partnership with the sub-department managers.

The SAR lead will also play a key role in CST's engagement in an increasing number of industry utilities and market initiatives, many of which represent significant opportunities for the delivery of technology services in dramatically more innovative and cost effective ways. The SAR lead will play a key role in evaluating how these opportunities can be leveraged and integrated into existing strategy and architectural approaches. In some cases, leveraging opportunities may require adaptation of our strategy or architecture, or liaison with other market participants or vendors to adapt the offering to our needs.

In all areas of work, we must ensure compliance with standard approaches and use of central systems as designated by central architecture and risk management functions, corporate and IT policy and other central standards.

EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE

The key skills necessary for success are:

- Significant experience in defining strategy and architecture goals and monitoring progress against these goals
- Broad technical expertise and experience of managing application development
- Extensive experience of working in Matrix structures and influencing roles, and the ability to work in close partnership with peers and colleagues at various levels in the organisation, within and outside the CST organisation
- Be comfortable influencing through liaison, debate, negotiation and collaboration but be able to combine these approaches with a determination to drive specific outcomes and have demonstrable impact on platform and project quality
- Experience of working within an international organisation, with sensitivity to different cultures
- Experience of vendor relationship management
- Strong organisation and administration skills, and ability to define and operate robust processes and procedures, and guide others in doing the same
- A passion for working within diverse teams and meritocratic cultures
